Robin's Story

Sep. 1996 - May 5, 2010

When we started the adoption process for our girl Tiver we were told that we needed to adopt a second puppy so she would have company while we were gone all day. We thought that was a great idea and went to another adoption fair to pick out a buddy for her. Robin caught our eye immediately. He was sitting there all poised and pretty, looking straight at us with the sweetest look on his face. He wanted to come live with us and we said "absolutely, you are the one".

Robin was clearly the omega to Tiver's being alpha but he did not care one bit. Life was always good in his eyes. He was the best guard dog ever; he would only bark if it was really necessary. And when he barked we went to check things out. We could always trust his judgement. This boy was the most easy-going, big, uncoordinated goofball on the planet. All he wanted was to be loved and to love right back. He loved people and dogs alike, making friends with everyone.

Robin lived to be almost 14 years old; a ripe old age for an 85-lb dog. When his arthritis got so bad that he could barely walk anymore we had to let him go. Tiver and Robin are now together again in doggie heaven, she bossing him around, he with that cute big goofy smile on his face; hopefully looking down on us and keeping an eye on us.
