Harley's Story

There once lived a woman in Southern California who longed to hold a Saluki baby boy in her arms so desperately that she looked near and far for that little prince that was destined to live with her. She had to look for a very long time-over a year-and very, very far-across the Atlantic Ocean-to find her little prince. He was born as a noble Yalameh puppy, and when their paths crossed for the first time, he wanted nothing to do with the woman who had been dreaming about him for so long. There was no time for cuddling and holding; after all, his brothers and sisters had to be chased and annoyed, holes had to be dug in the garden, and plastic bottles and watering cans chewed up. But off she whisked him in a small bag aboard a big, fast plane and before he knew it, he had landed in Los Angeles.

Being the noble prince that he was, he took everything in stride; his new human family, his new dog and cat family, the chickens, the fish, and the glorious pond that would be his wading pool during the hot Southern Californian summers.

Prince Harley has since grown into a very handsome dog. But even more importantly, he has grown into a cavalier, and a very confident and loyal friend and protector. He is deeply in love with his Princess Fairy and (hopefully) also with the two humans that adore him. Life without Harley is now unimaginable. His zest for life, his clownish antics, his love for running, his sweet yet penetrating, all-knowing caramel colored eyes, his gentle but determined and regal demeanor, and the way he quite naturally became master of all the other animals in his home when he was just 11 months old have earned him his name, Prince Harley.
